Dragonera

anchorage on mallorca
Isla Dragonera is a steep narrow island near the port of Andraitx. It is nly by 2 miles long by a little over half a mile wide and rises to 360 metres at Puig de Sa Popi.

Dragonera is uninhabited, although a small tourist office and cafe exists to service day boats. There is a small mole where tourist boats discharge their passengers each day. In settled conditions, it is possible to leave the boat at anchor and climb the hill for a spectacular view. However, the anchorages are small and not tenable in anything but settled weather, and Dragonera is not an ideal overnight anchorage.

There is a clear passage between Isla Dragonera and Mallorca. A good pilot book or chart is strongly advised.

Dragonera is also known for a unique subspecies of lizard which is indigineous to the island.
